Monica Arredondo Nontien

My name is Monica Alejandra Arredondo Nontien. I am from Bogotá, Colombia. I am studying Animal Science at the National University of Colombia, where I focused my studies on monogastric animals. Also I belonged to the Swine Study Group, in which we had practices with the pigs from the university farm.

I did an internship in the Institute of Food Science and Technology at the National University of Colombia where I worked on pork quality and how it is influenced by swine production. I came to Dr. Stein’s lab as a visiting scholar for six months based on the recommendation of professor Alvaro Wills. During my time here, I hope I can improve my knowledge on swine nutrition and satisfy requirements for my BS degree.

I am grateful to Dr. Stein for this unique opportunity. It is so important for me and for the future of my career because I like research and laboratory work.
