Paola Lancheros

I am from Colombia. I grew up in a small town called Zipaquira close to the capital city. I studied at America University of Bogota in Colombia, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. After my studies were completed, I started to work as an assistant project manager, where I learned a lot about biomedical residues and business. However I have always been passionate about research in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology and science in general.

My dissertation for my bachelor degree was: “Obtaining of polysaccharides extract from Lentinula Edodes (Shitake)”, which was a meritorious undergraduate work. I also participated in other research regarding the properties of edible mushrooms to be used in the industry.

I am very grateful to Dr. Stein for the opportunity to work in this prestigious university. Now this is a great time to work in other area of research and grow professionally and personally. I will do my best and I hope that my knowledge and experience will be useful for the lab. It is an honor to work in this great group.
