Lab activities

Caroline finished the farm work of a study to determine values for apparent and standardized total tract digestibility of calcium in inorganic and organic sources.

Oscar started experiments to measure amino acid digestibility, phosphorus digestibility, and energy content in corn with different particle sizes.

Travels

All the students in the group and Kate Horsman, and Dr. Stein travelled to Phoenix, AZ for the ADSA-AMPA-ASAS-CSAS-WSASAS Joint Annual Meeting held July 15-19. Ferdinando, Oscar, and Caroline gave presentations.

Dr. Stein travelled to Colombia and Denmark.

Other happenings

Dr. Defa Li from China Agricultural University and two of his colleagues visited our research facilities and laboratories on Friday, July 13, 2012. We exchanged experiences conducting research to evaluate feed ingredients fed to pigs.
