Cindy Sabogal

My name is Cindy Sabogal Tovar, I am from Bogotá Colombia. I received a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Sciences from the National University of Colombia (UNAL), in Bogotá -2015. I performed as an intern at a slaughter plant named “BLE” where I focused on pork cattle quality control. This internship allowed me to identify different factors which may affect the quality of pork meat in the different stages of the process. For these reasons, I developed a passion for pork production. Moreover, I worked in the Agrarian Bank of Colombia, an entity incharged of the agricultural sector, while I was working there, I awarded an specialization in technical analysis of livestock projects for small colombian farmers, the latter permitted me acquire technical skills for contributing to my home country development.

That is how I met Dr. Stein when I was on a visit to the United States who offered me the opportunity to become a visiting scholar. It is worth to say that I feel deep gratitude to him, due to the fact that, this experience helped me to expand, not only my knowledge but also the professional opportunities in the future. Today I have high expectations of belonging to the Monogastric Nutrition Laboratory team.
