I'm from Franca, Brazil, and my name is Juliana Carolina Florencio Ravagnani Martins. I got my Animal Sciences bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Agricultural and Veterinary Sciences, UNESP, Jaboticabal city Campus. At the LabSui Animal Science Department (swine sector), Sao Paulo State University, I completed an internship working with pigs as part of my degree program.

I began working in a full-cycle commercial pig farm in Brazil in 2019, where I acted as manager and an administrative assistant for three and a half consecutive years. I mostly managed personnel, organized the work, led the feed mill, forecasted and controlled animal consumption, vaccinated the herd, made purchases, released output data, and maintained stock of all farm inputs and medications.

I am now thrilled to work with Dr. Stein’s team, of who I am extremely grateful. I hope to contribute more to his team and the swine industry every day.
