Monica Arredondo Nontien

Monica Alejandra Arredondo Nontien is from Bogotá, Colombia. She is studying Animal Science at the National University of Colombia, where she is focusing on monogastric animals. She also belonged to the Swine Study Group, which enabled her to practice with the pigs from the university farm.

Monica did an internship in the Institute of Food Science and Technology at the National University of Colombia where she worked on pork quality and how it is influenced by swine production. She came to Dr. Stein’s lab as a visiting scholar for six months based on the recommendation of professor Alvaro Wills. In February 2018, she finished her study with us and returned to Colombia to finish her degree.
