Natalia Fanelli

My name is Natalia S. Fanelli. I am from Brazil, and I grew up in a small city called Taquaritinga, located in the state of Sao Paulo. I got my bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2018 from the Sao Paulo State University at Jaboticabal Campus.

In the spring of 2017, I got a scholarship from The Sao Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) that allowed me to work at Stein Laboratory in order to obtain knowledge for my undergraduate research in Brazil. I came back to the Stein Lab in the fall of 2018 to do my final internship in order to get my bachelor’s degree, and in 2019, I started to work as a researcher scholar, where I conducted many studies related to the evaluation of protein quality in human foods using the pig as a model. I worked in this position until 2022 and completed my master's degree in Nutrition in 2024, still working on evaluating proteins using the Digestible Indispensable Amino Acid Score (DIAAS) method.

Now, I am pursuing my PhD program, evaluating the effects of hydrolyzed proteins on humans and dogs. I really appreciate that he gave me this opportunity, it's always a pleasure working with his team.
