I am from Colombia. I grew up in a small town called Zipaquira close to the capital city. I studied at America University in Bogota, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. After my studies were completed, I worked in research regarding with fungus, together with my team we develop some projects to use edible mushroom in the industry.
After that, I started working as a project manager; I was in charge of projects related to biomedical residues and business with central banks. However, I have always been passionate about research in biology, biochemistry, biotechnology and science in general.
In 2016, I started working in Stein lab as a lab manager. It was a great experience because being closer with the graduate students and having several experiments for different companies was the perfect scenario to be completely involved in research. I got a lot of knowledge in nutrition and techniques for lab analysis. Additionally, I got the tools and discipline that a researcher requires. I am very grateful to Dr. Stein for the opportunity to work in this prestigious group.
In 2018, I became a student and now as a graduate student, I am looking forward to learning more about the nutrition industry and develop a challenging but interesting project regarding enzymes.
