Trine Pedersen grew up in a small city in the central part of Denmark. After graduating high school in 2008 she took an introductory course at Morsø Agricultural College, where she got a broad insight into taking care of animals. Then, she got an apprenticeship on a dairy farm, which inspired her to learn more. She earned a Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture from Aarhus University in 2012, with a focus on animal biology and production. In 2015, she earned a Master's in Agrobiology from Aarhus. Her Master's thesis was on lactating sows' energy and protein requirements. During her Master's program, she also worked at the Danish Pig Research Centre for six months.

In April 2015, she came to our lab as a visiting scholar. Here, she studied the effects of dietary energy level and an exogenous enzyme on growth performance of weanling pigs fed diets containing high protein or conventional canola meal.

Trine is now enrolled in a Ph. D. program at Aarhus University. The topic of her Ph. D. is crude protein and amino acids requirement for sows milk production.
