Lab activities

Chelsie started an experiment on growth performance of nursery pigs fed graded inclusion levels of novel canola meals.

Caroline finished a study to determine values for apparent and standardized total tract digestibility of calcium in inorganic calcium sources. She also started an experiment on digestibility in fish meal.

Oscar finished a study of the effects of different corn particle sizes on growth performance in weanling pigs.

Diego finished an experiment on amino acid digestibility in seven sources of soybean and rapeseed products fed to weanling pigs.

Travel

Dr. Stein traveled to Manhattan, Kansas from April 16-19 to give two invited talks. At Kansas State University, he spoke on "Digestibility of nutrients by pigs." Then, at the DSM Eubiotics Focus Group Meeting, he gave a talk on "Digestibility of nutrients and its evolution during the lifetime of a pig."

Tanawong and Orawan traveled to Thailand.
