Lab activities

Ferdinando started an experiment on the effects of heat damage on the amino acid digestibility of canola meal.

Neil finished animal work for an experiment on the effect of rate of daily gain on physiological and microbial measures in growing-finishing pigs.

Oscar began an experiment on phosphorus and energy digestibility in chicken meal, poultry byproduct meal, UltraPro, AV-E digest, and soybean meal fed to weanling pigs.

Personnel changes

Diego A. Rodriguez has finished his one-year internship in our lab and returned home to Colombia. He will now complete his bachelor's degree at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia, and hopes to go on for a Master's degree. We will miss Diego and wish him all the best in the future.

Dr. Stein taught a graduate-level short course on carbohydrate nutrition at Aarhus University in Denmark. Neil, Oscar, Caroline, Jin, Jung, and Tanawong traveled to Denmark to take the course.
