Achievements

Caroline was recognized as a 2016 ASAS Midwest Section Young Scholar by the American Society of Animal Science. The Young Scholar Award recognizes and features the research accomplishments of recent Ph.D. graduates or current Ph.D. students in the advanced stages of their program at the annual Midwestern ADSA/ASAS meetings. Congratulations, Caroline!

New Research

Yue She started an experiment to study the effects of super dosing of microbial phytase on energy and nutrient digestibility of diets fed to pigs.

Travel and visitors

Erik Bruininx of Agrifirm, who was in town for Diego's prelims, had lunch with the lab on December 1.

Neil visited Dr. Cuaron's swine nutrition group at INIFAP in Querétaro, Mexico from December 2-9 with Dr. Ellis and some members of his group. They had a great time exchanging research results and visiting DSM and a feed company called Previtep.

Carrie Walk from AB Vista visited to discuss research with Caroline, Laura, and Yue She.
