Achievements

Hannah Bailey defended her Masters Thesis on determining the protein quality of meat products consumed by humans. Hannah will stay in our laboratory and start pursuing her PhD when the new semester starts in January.

 

News about alumni:

  • Dr. Jerubella J. Abelilla, who obtained her PhD degree in our laboratory in May 2018, recently started a position as a Regional Technical Swine Manager in Asia Pacific Region for DSM Singapore.
  • Dr. Diego L. Navarro, who also obtained his PhD degree in our laboratory in May 2018, is now a Research Scientist at United Animal Health, Sheridan, IN.
  • Dr. Gloria A. Casas, who obtained her PhD degree in our laboratory in May 2018, is now a professor at the National University of Colombia in Bogota, Colombia.
  • Dr. John K. Mathai, who received his PhD degree from our laboratory in Dec. 2018, has started his job as a Research Scientist. He particularly works in “Global Regulatory New Product Development” for Elanco Animal Health, Greenfield, IN.

 

New experiments

Joseph Limbach started an experiment on "Effects of dietary crude protein concentration on intestinal permeability of weanling pigs".

 

Travel and visitors

On November 30, Molly McGhee gave a talk on the nutritional value of hybrid rye to farmers and agronomists in Albert Lea, Minnesota.
