Personnel changes

John Mathai and Jessica Lowell joined the lab as Master's students. John has been working with us as an undergraduate and as a full-time employee. Jessica comes to us from Michigan State University.

Lab activities

Neil finished animal work on a Danisco trial using a new direct-fed microbial product and an amino acid digestibility experiment testing two different Danisco phytase enzymes.

Caroline finished the final manuscript for a study of endogenous losses of calcium.

Kate finished animal work on an APC nursery experiment and on a digestibility study for Danisco, and started an experiment on phosphorus digestibility in canola meal.

Travel

Dong Yong Kil visited our lab in January. Dong Yong was a Ph. D. student and then a post-doctoral research fellow for the Stein lab from 2005 to 2009.

Dr. Stein traveled to Atlanta on January 24 for the International Poultry Expo, then traveled from there to Findlay, Ohio for the opening of a new Hamlet Protein facility on January 27.
