Personnel changes

Kelly Sotak has joined the lab as a Ph. D. student. Kelly is from Springfield, IL and did her undergraduate work at Missouri and her Master's at Kansas State. Welcome, Kelly!

Travels

Dr. Stein travelled to San Jose, Costa Rica for a feed industry conference. He gave two presentations: "Use of soybean meal in swine diets" and "Feeding of gestating and lactating sows." Later in the month, he visited AB Vista in Petersborough, UK and spoke on "Digestibility of Calcium and Phosphorus in diets fed to pigs." Finally, Dr. Stein spoke at the 44th Nottingham Feed Conference, Nottingham, UK. His presentation was titled "Aspects of amino acid nutrition in pigs."

Neil is working at the Research Centre Foulum which is part of Aarhus University in Denmark from June until September. He will be working with Dr. Knud Eric Bach Knudsen and performing fiber analysis of grain and grain co-products used in pig diets.

Oscar travelled to St. Louis, Missouri for the American Feed Industry Association conference.

Accomplishments

Oscar was awarded a scholarship from the Institute for Feed Education & Research (IFEEDER). The scholarship consists of a travel and registration grant to the Feed Industry Institute conference. Congratulations, Oscar!
