June 2021 Lab News

Achievements

On June 17th, Vanessa Lagos Muñoz successfully defended her PhD dissertation about "Effects of microbial phytase in pig diets on calcium requirements, post-weaning growth performance, phytate degradation, and nutrient digestibility".

Conferences

On June 23rd, Dr. Hans Stein gave a talk for USSEC in South East Asia, Technical Broadcast Series: Strategies and techniques in this time of increasing prices of protein and Amino Acid sources.

On June 29th, Vanessa Lagos gave a talk for AB Vista in Spain - Europe, about: Update on research related to Ca and phytase in pigs.

New experiments

Hannah Bailey started a trial this month about "Effect of spray dried plasma (SDP) on oxidative stress and litter performance of sows subjected to heat stress and the subsequent growth performance of the pigs weaned from the sows". Also, Natalia Fanelli started a new experiment about "Determination of PDCAAS and DIAAS values in Krill protein".
