Accomplishments

Ferdinando N. Almeida passed his MS thesis defense on March 2, 2010. His thesis is entitled Standardized total tract digestibility of phosphorus in diets fed to swine.

Ferdinando will earn the Masters of Science degree when he completes his last classes in May this year. He will stay in our group as a PhD student.

Kurtis P. Goebel passed his MS thesis defense on March 12, 2010. His thesis is entitled Novel soybean products fed to pigs.

Kurtis will earn the Masters of Science degree when he completes his last classes in May this year. Kurtis plans a future in the feed industry and is currently looking for a job.

Lab activities

Grant completed 2 experiments to develop low protein diets for weanling pigs. He also started 2 additional experiments.  

Oscar started an experiment to measure phosphorus digestibility in fermented soybean meal, conventional soybean meal, and in fish meal by weanling pigs.

Won Seok started an experiment to measure AA digestibility in palm kernel meal and copra meal.
