Achievements

In May 15th, Drs. Ibagon, Jaramillo, and Fanelli (previously known as Jimena, Bibiana, and Natalia) received their diplomas, were hooded, and celebrated before they continue on their life journey, which undoubtedly will lead them to great achievements. We have been privileged to have Jimena, Bibiana, and Natalia in our team and wish them the very best in the future. Thank you for all your contributions to our team.

 

 

Conferences

In May 27 and 28, Dr. Stein gave 2 talks for USSEC East Asia. Feed Technology and Animal Nutrition Conference. Manila, The Philippines:

  • Determination of net energy in soybean meal for pigs
  • Impact of microbial phytase on the nutritional value of SBM

Dr. Su A Lee gave a talk at the 2026 Animal Nutrition Conference of Canada (Edmonton, AB, Canada; May 5-7) The title was "Effects of dietary protein, fat, starch, and fiber on net energy in diets fed to group-housed pigs is the title".

 

Personnel changes

Luis Ponce is our new visiting scholar, he is from Mexico and he will be working at the farm. Bibiana Jaramillo after graduation left our team and came back to Colombia to continue with her career. Natalia Fanelli also left our team and she will start working at Saturn Pet company in Indiana. Jimena Ibagon will start as a post doctor in our team.
