Lab activities
Oscar started an experiment to measure energy digestibility in fermented soybean meal (PepSoyGen) fed to weanling pigs. He also completed the animal part of an experiment on AA digestibility in PepSoyGen.
Jung harvested the first group of pigs for his experiment.
Kate initiated two experiments to study digestibility of AA in corn co-products and digestibility of AA in lysine cells and peptone products, respectively.
Scott continued his work with the effects of age on P digestibility in pigs.
Sarah completed the animal part of her experiment to measure starch digestibility in pigs.
Travels
Grant Petersen travelled to St. Louis to participate in educational seminars organized by the American Feed Institute.
Grant Petersen also participated in World Pork Expo in Des Moines, IA.
Dr. Stein travelled to St. Louis to give an invited presentation on “effects of sulfur in DDGS on palatability and performance of weanling and growing pigs” at the annual meeting for BBI International.
