Effects of dietary crude protein level on growth performance, blood characteristics, and indicators of gut functionality in weanling pigs

Joseph Limbach, a recent Master's degree recipient from the Stein Monogastric Nutrition Lab, presents his thesis research about the effects of dietary crude protein on measurements of health and performance in weanling pig. Topics include post-weaning diarrhea, growth performance, blood parameters, morphology of the jejunum and ileum, gastrointestinal pH, products of fermentation in the cecum and colon, and the expression of genes related to inflammation in the ileum.
