September 2020 Lab News

New experiments

Molly McGhee started a trial: "Growth performance of growing-finishing pigs fed different levels of hybrid rye in substitution for corn".

Hannah Bailey started an experiment: "Effect of spray dried plasma (SDP) on energy, fiber, Ca, and P digestibility in diets based on different ingredient combinations fed to nursery pigs".

Carly Rundle also started a trial "Effects of isoquinoline alkaloids on growth performance and blood characteristics of pigs fed corn-soybean meal diets formulated below amino acid requirements".

Natalia Fanelli started an experiment: "Effect of adding soybean hulls on apparent ileal digestibility and standardized ileal digestibility of amino acids in soybean meal by growing pigs".

Conferences

On September 23 and 24, doctor Stein gave two online conferences in “Feed Technology and Animal Nutrition Conference” in Manila, the Philippines: "Quality of Soy Protein as Source of Amino Acids in Diets for Pigs", and "Advantages of Using Standardized Ileal Digestible Amino Acids in Diet Formulation"
