Achievements

PhD students Bibiana and Andrea successfully passed their qualifying exam in our Division of Nutritional Sciences. This is an important milestone in the program. Big congratulations to Bibiana and Andrea.

 

We have visitors from DSM company and also Eastman who meet with our team and explain what they do in their companies and share some tips for our students.

 

Conferences

Dr. Stein gave a talk at the “FAO-IAEA. Consultancy Meeting: Protein digestibility from alternative protein sources. Vienna, Austria. Aug. 5-7, 2025”, about: "Use of pig-derived digestibility values for amino acids to formulate protein-adequate diets for humans."

 

Personnel changes

Juliana Ravagnani after a couple of years as a visiting scholar in our lab, she became a master student this fall and she will work with soybean hulls. Cindy Sabogal came in 2022 as a visiting scholar in our lab and she worked at the SRC and also in the lab for 3 years, now she is leaving our laboratory and come back to Colombia. We wish Cindy the best of luck in her new plans in Colombia.
