New experiments

Hannah Bailey stared a trial: "Effect of supplementing spray dried plasma (SDP) to diets on a low plane of nutrition on growth performance, diarrhea scores, gut morphology, and blood immune parameters of pigs in phase-2 of nursery". Natalia Fanelli also started an experiment: "Amino acid digestibility in high-oil corn and in conventional corn fed to growing pigs". Su A Lee, Diego Rodriguez, and Jimena Ibagon started an experiment in our calorimeter unit about: “Determination of net energy in hybrid rye fed to group-housed growing pigs in an indirect calorimeter unit, and comparative energy values calculated using direct, regression, or difference procedures”.

Conferences

Doctor Stein gave online conferences:

  • Oct. 7-8, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, Bridge2food. Virtual global plant based foods conference, he talked about "Digestible Indispensable Amino Acid Score" and "Challenges and opportunities".
  • Oct. 14, United States Grains Council. Virtual Grains Exchange: "Corn co-product use in diets for pigs".
  • Oct. 20, USSEC South East Asia, Technical BroadCast Series. Animal Protein Broadcasts for Nutritionists and professionals from Animal Nutrition and Feed Sector in Singapore, Stein talked about "Intact Protein and Essential Amino Acids in Pigs: Soybean meal, Crystalline Amino Acids, and Branched Chain Amino Acids".
  • Oct. 22, USSEC South East Asia, Animal Nutrition Working Group meeting in Singapore, about: "Formulating diets for pigs using net energy".
  • Oct. 27, USSEC South East Asia, Technical BroadCast Series. Animal Protein Broadcasts for Nutritionists and professionals from Animal Nutrition and Feed Sector in Singapore. he talked about "Formulating pig diets using standardized ileal digestible amino acids (SID AA) rather than apparent ileal digestible (AID) or total amino acids".
